Stopping by the book table at the most recent meeting of the
Conference on Faith and History, I picked up a book with an interesting title:
Countercultural Conservatives: American
Evangelicalism from the Postwar Revival to the New Christian Right (2011),
by Axel Schäfer.
Axel is Director of the
David Bruce Centre for American Studies at Keele University
in the UK. I bought the book and discovered that he takes a compelling perspective
on the rise of the Religious Right in America. I asked Axel to comment on it
for Hermeneutic Circle and he was gracious enough to take time out of his busy
life. Stay tuned ... I'll be posting the interview this week!
