Avenues for Research on Methodism in the UK


Wesley and Methodist Studies, volume 4,  The fourth volume of our annual series has now been published ...  Geordan Hammond and Peter S. Forsaith, eds. Religion, Gender and Industry: Exploring Church and Methodism in a Local Setting. Following the publication of the book by Wipf and Stock late last year, the UK edition of the book has now been published by James Clarke. This collection of essays was first presented at the stimulating international conference of the same name co-sponsored by the MWRC and Oxford Centre for Methodism and Church History. 

The Centre also announced this upcoming conference:

Women, the Church and Ministry: Celebrating 100 years of women’s ordination in the UK ... Discounted rates for registration for this conference are available until 13th April (all registrations should be received by 27th April). This series of events in Glasgow from 11-13 May 2012 includes an academic conference at the University of Glasgow on Friday 11 May with three keynote speakers offering historical and theological analysis and reflections on the role of women in the church’s past, present, and future, plus a selection of shorter papers around this theme.
