Here at Grace College we are gearing up for
Communitas 2012 – an event (March 27) that encourages and showcases student scholarship, creative expression, as well as the integration of faith and learning. We have over 25 students involved from all across the disciplines! This year the line-up includes six students from the Department of History and Political Science in a session entitled
Historical Perspectives on Culture and the Arts:
Natalie Heubner, “A Study of Art and War: Works from the French Revolution”
Grace Beasley, “That's Why They Call Me "Shine": Louis Armstrong as a Racial and Sexual Emblem in Jazz Music History”
Hillary Burgardt, “Mongolian Nomads: Left without Direction”
Carrie Halquist, “Conscientious Objectors in WWII: Why Their Story Has Not Been Told”
