Feel like a good history flick? Check out these titles recommended at the Historical Society. 
I would also recommend Reel History: In Defense of Hollywood by Robert Brent Toplin. Toplin provides a helpful discussion about evaluating historical films and seeing them for what they are. Rather than getting hung up on historical inaccuracy (We should assume that Hollywood films will always take creative license), Toplin helps us see histoical film as a genre that says more about the human experience as well as our own generation than about historical fact.
